Under the VTS, the second offering, commercial vehicles will be fitted with a tracking device and a Hutch SIM card to locate their whereabouts.

Realizing that the accuracy requirement depends on the business the customer is in, the service is designed for all accuracy levels, Ramnathan said.

The solution is developed by city-based Citadel Health. It costs anywhere between Rs 7,000 to Rs 35,000 for the tracking unit depending on the hardware specifications while Hutch plans to charge monthly rentals ranging from Rs 799 to Rs 1,699 depending upon the service usage pattern of the customers.

The service will be useful for fleet owners, hospitals, car rentals, and FMCG companies, Ramnathan said.
