Employees of Apollo Tyres' Perambara unit here resumed work today with most clashing issues between the management and employees' unions settled.
The decision was taken at a meeting convened by Regional Joint Labour Commissioner Jose V Jacob here.
In a release issued here, the company said the unions have agreed to increase productivity in the mixing and tyre-curing sections by discussing and implementing the changes within a month.
On the issue of continuous production between shifts, the Labour Commissioner will examine the issue and submit a report by November 30.
Apollo Tyres's unit here was shut down on August 16 after the management decided to increase the workload by raising productivity from 280 tonnes to 318 tonnes per day, union leaders said.
During the lockout period, Apollo Tyres is said to have suffered a production loss of Rs five crore per day, company sources said.
By maximising production in other plants, Apollo Tyres maintained that it ensured that there was no shortfall in supplies of cross-ply tyres in the market.
