Mahindra-Renault, a 51:49 joint venture between Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) and French car-maker Renault, is all set to launch its much-awaited mid-sized sedan 'Logan'. |
The car would be launched at a function, to be held at Nashik on April 4, company sources said. Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh too would be present on the occasion. |
A right hand version of Logan has been developed by Renault in partnership with Mahindra & Mahindra to meet the needs of Indian and other right-hand drive markets. Logan will be marketed under the brand Mahindra-Renault. M&M will use its dealer network to distribute the car in India. |
The Logan car manufacturing plant is located adjacent to M&M's state-of-the-art facility in Nashik, which manufactures 'Scorpio' and 'Bolero' utility vehicles. The Logan will share a stamping division and a paint shop of Mahindra & Mahindra's Scorpio-Bolero manufacturing facility. |
Initially, the manufacturing capacity of Logan plant will be 50,000 vehicles per year. The total investment in this project is around Rs 650 crore. The Logan will have 50 per cent localised contents. |
