Logitech plans to enter tier 2 and 3 cities in India

Logitech today said that India is an important market for the company and it has plans to foray into the tier 2 and tier 3 cities in the country this year.

Besides India, the company in eyeing Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, Logitech Country Manager for India and South West Asia Subrotah Biswas told reporters here.

There is immense consumer base (in India). About 50% of the population here is below 25 years of age. At present majority of the sales is in 25-39 age group. However, in the 3-4 years it would shift to the 20-25 age group, he said.

 

India has the second largest diaspora in the world, with about 25 million people residing outside the country. Indian students represent 15% of all international students in the US, which is also an area of tremendous opportunities, he said.

The company showcased its wide line up of products spanning multiple computing, communication and entertainment platforms here yesterday and said it considers kerala as a key market due to its high income individuals and increasing PC penetration.

Logitech plans to address this region through focused market development programmes, Biswas added.

The company has launched 140-odd products, including wireless solar keyboard that powers itself through its integrated solar panel and Ultimate custom In-Ear monitors range.
