LT Foods Q2 net up by 57%

LT Foods, which sells packaged rice under the brand 'Daawat', today reported a 57.2 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 1.97 crore for the quarter ended on September 30, 2010.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 1.25 crore in the similar quarter last year, LT Foods said in a release.

During the second quarter (July-September) of the current fiscal, the company's total sales went up by 12 per cent to Rs 255.89 crore against Rs 228.35 crore in the corresponding period, last year.

"We have performed better in comparison to other industry players in this challenging environment as our consumer pack sale in domestic market has gone up by 20 per cent," LT Foods CMD Vijay Arora said in a statement.
