Auto maker Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) today said its domestic sales in December 2009 has more than doubled to 22,754 units, as against 10,253 units in the same month previous year.
Total utility vehicle sales, including the Scorpio, the Xylo, the Bolero and Pick-Ups, stood at 16,999 units as against sales of 7,726 units in December 2008, 120 per cent up, M&M said in a statement.
Sales of sedan Logan from Mahindra Renault stood at 308 units during the month as against 272 units in the same month a year ago, up by 13.23 per cent, it added.
The company said sales of three-wheelers and newly launched four-wheeled small cargo carrier Gio during December 2009 stood at 4,747 units as against 1,934 units during the same month last year.
Light commercial vehicle sales from Mahindra Navistar Automotives during the month were at 700 units as against 321 units in the same month a year ago.
Exports during the month stood at 1,247 units as against 412 units in December 2008, it said.

For the ongoing fiscal, year-to-date domestic sales stood at 2,01,201 units in December 2009, as against 1,57,553 units for the same period last year, the company said.
