M&M FY05 consolidated net soars 60%

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has posted a 60% surge in its consolidated balance of profit to Rs 724.07 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 as compared to Rs 451.12 crore in FY04. Total income (net of excise) has moved up to Rs 9,565.51 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 from Rs 7,035.49 crore in FY-04.

The company has posted a 47% jump in its net profit at Rs 512.67 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 against Rs 348.54 crore in FY04. Total income (net of excise) has increased to Rs 6,769.05 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 from Rs 5,057.44 crore in FY-04.

M&M has registered a small 4.82% gain in its profit after tax at Rs 152.66 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 as against Rs 145.63 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2004. Total income (net of excise) is Rs 1,951.30 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 where as the same was at Rs 1,525.72 crore in Q4-04.

According to a release issued by M&M to the BSE, the board of directors has recommended a dividend of 100% and a special dividend of 30% aggregating Rs 13 per share.
