Mahindra Renault has reduced the price of its fully loaded 1.4L petrol variant by Rs 31,000 with effect from January 7.

Post reduction, the 1.4L petrol variant would be available for Rs 4,49,000.

"Mahindra Renault is offering customers an attractive entry invitation price of Rs 4,49,000 per vehicle (ex-Delhi) on the fully loaded 1.4L petrol variant," the company said in a statement. The reduced price would be offered for 45 days.

Sales of Logan fell to 1,500 units for the second consecutive month in December. Between May and October, Logan sales averaged 2,452 units a month. Since launch, M&M has sold 17,781 Logans.

With slowdown in sales, the company had also brought down Logan's production to about 45 cars a day from 125 a day in August.

The car was launched in India in May and marked SUV maker Mahindra & Mahindra's entry into the passenger car market.

Logan is manufactured by the joint venture between M&M and French auto major Renault SA.

Only yesterday, Mahindra & Mahindra announced an increase in prices across the board, ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000.

Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra closed on Friday at Rs 823.75 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.99 per cent.
