Madras Cements today said its net profit rose by 49.58 per cent to Rs 169.88 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009, over the same period last year.
Total income rose to Rs 853.43 crore in the July- September quarter, up 27.40 per cent from Rs 669.87 crore in the same period corresponding fiscal, Madras Cement said in a filing in the Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE).
The board of directors has proposed an interim dividend of Rs 1.50 per shares for 2009-10.
Shares of Madras Cements were trading at Rs 110.30 on the BSE, without any change from its previous close.
