Madura Garment's vice-president (marketing) M Vasanth Kumar has quit the company to join the Dubai-based $600-million Landmark Group in a senior position. Informed sources said that he will either take up a position overseas or spearhead some new venture of Landmark in India.

Senior Landmark officials in India when contacted cited the weekend holiday in Dubai on Friday and said an announcement is expected on Saturday.

Vasanth Kumar preferred not to comment. Landmark officials said that the statement slated for Saturday will pinpont the position, venture and place of work.

The Landmark Group has over 300 stores across West Asia and India. It currently runs seven Lifestyle international stores in the country and targets opening 21 by 2006-07.
