Magma Q2 net up 37%
 
Magma Leasing (MLL), a Kolkata-based non-banking financial institution, has posted a 37 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 6.51 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2005, as compared with Rs 4.74 crore during the corresponding period last fiscal.
 
Total disbursement was recorded at Rs 379.25 crore, a growth of 27 per cent over Rs 297.93 crore achieved last year. Gross profit increased by 95 per cent to Rs 10.03 crore during the period.
 
The company's disbursal for the first half ending September 2005, touched Rs 725.30 crore, up 25 per cent from Rs 578.47 crore registered in H1 last fiscal while the year-to-date net profit increased 37 per cent to Rs 14.95 crore.
 
Merck's Q3 net up 12%
 
Merck posted a 11.86 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 22.53 crore for the third quarter ended September 30, 2005, as against Rs 20.14 crore for the corresponding period last fiscal.
 
Total income (net of excise) grew by 6.26 per cent at Rs 110.80 crore from Rs 104.27 crore in the year-ago period. The company, a subsidiary of Germany-based Merck Group, manufactures and markets pharmaceuticals, laboratory products, specialty fine chemicals, diagnostics, and pigments to satisfy the continuing needs of the customers.
 
Mico Q3 net dips 13%
 
Motor Industries Company (Mico) reported a 13.16 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 85.89 crore for third quarter ended September 30, 2005, as compared with Rs 97.20 crore for the year-ago period. Total income, however, increased 57.01 per cent at Rs 799.79 crore from Rs 509.37 crore.
