Magna Publishing, a publisher of magazines like Stardust, Savvy and Society are rolling out their first weekly, a film magazine called Star Week, to be launched today. With a cover price of Rs 25, the tagline of the magazine reads, ‘Snappy showbiz .Every Friday’. It will have 60-65 pages of editorial content.
Says Ashwin Varde, editorial director, Magna Publishing: “Star Week will be the first weekly of its kind . It’s a film weekly that will be a quick glance through the happenings in the industry in the span of one week.” The idea for the style magazine was conceived from the fact, he says, that today people don’t have time to read long stories.”This standalone magazine is targeted at the younger generation, target age group being 18 years to 30 years, and those who are constantly on the move.” The marketing and editorial teams of the magazine will be different from that of Stardust. Its editorial team will comprise around 12-14 people.
On whether the content of Star Week could be similar to that of Stardust, considering that both are film-based magazines, Varde informs, “The content of Star Week will be radically different from that of Stardust. Stardust is more bold, controversial, whereas Star Week will be more of pictorial, newsy, topical.”
