Mahagenco invites bids for 1,000 Mw project

Maharashtra State Power Generation Company ( Mahagenco) today invited bids from domestic as well as global developers for setting up a 1,000-Mw power project at Chandrapur.

Developers chosen for the project would be responsible for design, supply, commissioning of main plant equipment, apart from other auxilliaries for the 2x500 Mw project which is an extension to the existing 2,340 Mw project.

Mahagenco is implementing expansion at four power projects in the state totaling 2,000 Mw. The projects include New Parli TPS Unit 2 (250 Mw), Paras TPS Expansion Unit 2 (250 Mw), Khaperkheda TPS Expansion Project (500 Mw) and Bhusawal TPS Expansion (1,000 Mw).

Mahagenco is also planning to take up five more new and expansion projects of a total 5,540 Mw in the phase-II, including Chandrapur TPS Expansion, phase-II. The state utility has an installed capacity of around 9,200 Mw.
