Mahesh Babu-starrer to open in 250 screens abroad

Film will be released in the four south Indian states today along with the UK, US and Canada

The year 2014 is starting with a bang for  Telugu cinema, as it witnesses the widest launch of a movie ever in the language, with Mahesh Babu starrer 1 Nenokoddine on Thursday. The film is produced by 14 Reels Entertainment and distributed by Eros International. The suspense-action-thriller will release in more than 1,400 screens in India and 250 screens abroad. In Karnataka, the movie will be distributed by RNR Films.

The film has been released in the four south Indian states on Friday, as well as in the UK, the US and Canada.

A source from the production team reveals that the makers of the film have grand plans. Apart from having the widest Telugu language release, the movie will be dubbed in four other languages — Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali and Tamil. “The dubbed versions will be released in the second or third week of February,” reveals the source.
 

Besides, the makers have planned a phased release for the movie in new markets like China, Japan, the Gulf, Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Europe over the next six months. The film will have subtitles in at least eight to nine foreign languages and will be released in the respective territories.

The satellite rights for the Telugu version have been sold to a leading south Indian TV channel for approximately Rs 12 crore, while the Hindi language rights have been sold to for nearly Rs 4 crore.

The movie marks the debut of Kirti Sanon as the leading lady and is directed by Sukumar. Made with a budget of Rs 75 crore, it is one of the costly films in the language.

1 Nenokoddine has been shot in Goa and London and also features Babu’s son as the actor’s younger version. Eros has reportedly bought the worldwide distribution rights for the film for Rs 72 crore.

Eros is co - producing the movie not only distributing.

What better way to enter the Telugu market than with its superstar Mahesh Babu. We are very excited about "the film" and hope there are many such films to come."
