Bus manufacturer Mahindra International Ltd is planning to open a local automobile dealership in Agra, in collaboration with Chawla Motors. |
On Tuesday, the first Mahindra bus of 32-seater capacity, luxury class, was delivered to a local school by Govind Chawla, director of Chawla Motors. |
Talking to the mediapersons on this occasion, Chawla said the "Mahindra Tourister-32" bus was different from buses in its class by more than 44 factors and the bus was way ahead of its competition in terms of power, torque and engine cooling technology, which gave it a superior power/mileage ratio. |
Besides the usual 32-seater model, the bus was also available in 28 seat high-back and 17 seat push-back models, he added. |
According to Chawla the company had also tied up with ICICI bank and Mahindra Finance to facilitate the financing of the buses by up to 80 per cent of the total value at low interest rates. |
Being a tourism-centric city, small buses in the luxury class are constantly in high demand among the local travel agencies in Agra. |
But till date, luxury buses are not available directly to the buyers locally and they have to wait for weeks altogether to receive the delivery of the buses from dealers in other towns. But the situation has now taken a positive turn now with this move. |
