Mahindra International, a joint venture between Mahindra and Mahindra and International Truck and Engines Corporation, has launched India's first mini-bus with common rail direct injection (CRDe) technology in Goa.

The mini-buses are incorporated with CRDe and have turbo-charged NEF 2609 cc engine. The vehicles, which have an 82-horsepower engine, are vibration-free and low on noise.

The engine is fuel efficient because of precise fuel supply and high atomisation of diesel and conforms to Bharat stage-III emission norms, claims the release adding that the aesthetic interiors of the bus and high backrest seats are value additions to customer's comforts.

The mini-bus is ideal for sectors such as hospitality, tourism and can be used for contract carriage and is ideal in the industrial sector as well.

The bus can also be used to service the city's transport requirements, as well as by intra-city operators and on local passenger routes also. Another variant of the bus, with special features, is available for transporting school kids.

In three years, Mahindra International plans to launch vehicles with more than 40 tonne capacity.

The vehicles are marketed in Goa by their authorised dealer for light commercial vehicles, PG Virgincar and Company at Margao, a reputed name in the Goan automobile industry.
