Mahindra launches Genio in Chandigarh

Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) today announced the launch of the Genio, its next generation commercial vehicle, in Chandigarh. The 1.2 tonne pick-up has been developed to cater to the SMEs’ transportation needs. The company says the vehicle has the potential to change the face of the pick-up industry in India. The vehicle is priced at Rs 5.03 lakh for BS3 Variant (Ex-showroom in Chandigarh).

M&M Senior Vice-President, Marketing (Automotive Division) Vivek Nayer said, the company has invested Rs 225 crore for the new product which includes product development and putting up an assembling line. He also infomed the installed capacity is 2,000 units per month which can be upgraded in accordance with the demand. The new vehicle is being rolled out of Mahindra’s state-of-the-art Chakan plant, near Pune.
