Mahindra Navistar Automotives is planning to launch tippers with a capacity of 25-tonne and tractor trailers with 40-tonne capacity before March in the domestic market.
The company today launched its 25-tonne and 31-tonne capacity trucks in Visakhapatnam.
“Though the Rs 950-crore Chakan plant near Pune has a production capacity of 50,000 units a year, we are producing just a few trucks depending on the demand,” Nalin Mehta, chief executive officer, told mediapersons here.
In the first quarter of the next fiscal, the company would introduce trucks with 49-tonne capacity, he said.
