Mahindra Satyam has been assessed at Level 5 for the CMMI Version 1.2-Development model for its development centre at Bangalore, Pune and Chennai. The company's Hyderabad Development Centre has already achieved this certification in November 2008.

According to a company release, the assessment led by KPMG as per the SCAMPI methodology evaluated Mahindra Satyam on stringent parameters including implementation of Process Performance Models.

"It translates into direct benefits for our customers in terms of reduction of cost, time-to-market and enhanced service levels. The prestigious certification brings in added responsibility to us and we will endeavour more than ever to meet the expectations of our customers," he added.

Shares of Mahindra Satyam lost 2.24 per cent on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) to close at Rs 58.80.
