Press Trust of India Chennai
Online travel portal, MakeMyTrip, has entered into a "strategic partnership" with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to sell customised 'rail-holiday packages'.

The partnership would extend the choice of holidays that the website offers to its customers by providing travellers options of best-deal railway packages along with air-tickets, hotel bookings and holidays, on a single platform, the company said in a statement.

Sachin Bhatia, co-founder, MakeMyTrip, said: "The tie-up with IRCTC will empower travellers by providing them greater choice and flexibility when planning holidays. It is also of long-term strategic significance for us. Going forward, we intend to leverage existing synergies to our mutual advantage."

At present, the service is available through the toll-free numbers of a few private telecom service providers. Travellers booking through MakeMyTrip have the advantage of accessing a variety of payment options offered by the portal. These include online payment by credit card, debit card, online banking, cash-on-delivery and mobile banking.
