Malindo Air to expand fleet

Plans to procure four Boeing aircraft by the end of this year

Malindo Air, jointly promoted by National Aerospace and Defence Industries of Malaysia and Lion Airlines of Indonesia, is planning to procure four Boeing aircraft by the end of this year.

"Currently we have eight Boeing and 11 ATR aircraft. We are planning to add four more Boeings during this year to expanding the connectivity," Ravichandran, chief marketing officer, Malindo Air, told Business Standard. He did not disclose the investment details regarding this.

Speaking to the media at the launch of their operations from Vizag airport to Kuala Lumpur here, he said, "Currently, we are connecting five cites in India including Visakhapatnam and by end of this year we will connect three more cities including Chennai and Trivandrum." Malindo Air will start operations to China, Hong Kong and Australia by the end of this year he added.
