Ranbaxy Laboratories chief executive officer Malvinder Singh and his family today moved the Delhi High Court seeking an order to restrain his uncle, Max India chairman Analjit Singh, and Delhi Guest House Ltd (DGH) from converting a property under dispute from lease-hold to free-hold. |
The property " 15/15 A Aurangzeb Road and 1 & 2, South End Lane in New Delhi " is occupied by Analjit Singh and his family on one side and Malvinder, brother Shivinder and their family on the other. Justice Reva Khetrapal transferred the matter to another bench, to be heard on July 10. |
According to the petition filed by Malvinder, brother Shivinder and mother Nimmi Singh, they found out on June 15 that Analjit, through DGH, had applied for conversion from lease-hold to free-hold. |
The defendants were not entitled to execution of the deed of residuary rights in the land belonging to plaintiffs under the family settlement and cannot create title by having deed of free-hold rights executed in their favour, the petition stated. |
It said the urban development ministry had been informed about the dispute and has been asked not to deal with Analjit with respect to the property. |
It also alleged that Analjit had set up a will of family patriarch Bhai Mohan Singh, who died on March 27 this year, in his favour and sought to appropriate their properties to himself. |
