Man Industries bags Rs 1,200 cr pipe supply order

Leading SAW pipe manufacturers Man Industries today said it has bagged a Rs 1,200 crore order from international and domestic customers, including GAIL, for its Dabhol-Bangalore Pipe Line (DBPL) project.

"The company has bagged a Rs 125 crore order from GAIL, while the remaining is from international companies in the Middle East, South East Asia and Africa," Senior Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, K G Mantri told PTI.

These orders are for supply of about two lakh tonnes of large diameter SAW (Submerged Arc Welded) pipes over a period of 12 months.
    
The company's order book has increased to about Rs 2,500 crore with the latest orders, which were bagged through international bidding, he said.
    
"It is a sign of... Revival of investment climate globally in the oil and gas sector as more and more countries are looking for energy security," company Chairman R C Mansukhani said in a statement, expressing satisfaction that the company continues to procure sizeable orders from domestic as well as international clients despite tough competition.
    
The company, part of the Man Group, has a production capacity of about one million tonnes of SAW pipes per annum.
