Maruti Dec sales up 10%

Maruti Suzuki India today reported a 10% increase in sales at 62,515 vehicles in December when compared with 56,985 vehicles sold in the same month last year.

Maruti sold 58,401 units in the domestic market, up 7% from 54,640 units sold in December 2006.

Exports increased 75% to 4,114 units from 2,345 units in the year-ago period.

This is reported to be the 22nd consecutive monthly rise in sales for Maruti. The company last reported a drop in sales in February 2006.
