Maruti February sales up 53%

Maruti Udyog's total sales for the month of February 2007 rose 53.3% to 62,999 units as against 41,095 units sold in February 2006.

According to a release issued by Maruti to the BSE today, the total passenger car sales soared 61.6% to 58,735 units in February 2007 compared with 36,338 units sold in February 2006. The 'C' segment (Omni & Versa) sales zoomed 97.8% and 'A2' segment (Alto, Wagon-R, Zen & Swift) sales were up 79.6%.

The exports, however, were down 13% at 3904 units for the month ended February 2007 as against 4487 units sold in the corresponding month a year ago.
