Maruti June sales up 5%

Maruti Udyog today reported a 4.6% increase in June sales at 41,390 vehicles as against 39,574 units sold in June 2004.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, volume in the domestic A2 segment (Alto, WagonR, Zen) grew by 31.6% to 24,703 units from 18,768 units, and in A3 segment (Baleno, Esteem) by 75% to 2,191 units from 1,252 units sold in June 2004.

The A1 segement (M800) witnessed a decline of 41% to 6,387 units from 10,761 units sold in June 2004. The SUV segment sales declined over 70% to 222 units from 746 in the year-ago period, the release added.

Exports were up marginally (7.5%) to 3,395 units, the release added.

Cumulative sales (April-June) declined marginally (1.4%) to 1,21,866 units from 1,23, 624 units in the year-ago period, the release said.
