Maruti March sales up 14%, exports soar

Maruti today reported a 13.6% increase in total vehicle sales for March at 71,772 units as against 63,196 units sold in March 2006.

Domestic sales were up marginally (5.6%) at 64,556 units when compared with 61,141 units in the year-ago period. Exports soared 251% to 7216 units as against 2055 units.

Maruti 800 witnessed 43.9% decline in sales to 6141 units as against 10,937 units sold in March 2006.

Total annual sales increased 20% to 6,74,924 units when compared with 5,61,822 units sold in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2006.

Exports for the year were up 13% at 39,295 units as against 34,784 units.
