Maruti Udyog today reported 10.1% increase in domestic sales in July at 44,653 units as against 40,553 units in the same month last year. Exports, however, were down 58.2% at 1,755 units as against 4,203 units in July last year. Total sales during the month managed a marginal growth of 3.7% at 46,408 units as against 44,756 units in the same month a year ago. Sales of its popular model M800 dipped 4% to 6,040 units as against 6,294 units in last year. The A2 segment comprising Alto, Zen, Wagon R and Swift rose by 15.1% at 29,326 units as against 25,477 units last year. The comany said sales in the A3 segment, including Baleno and Esteem, were down 15.5% at 2,142 units as against 2,534 units. Consolidated domestic sales till July of this fiscal improved by 16.9% at 1,81,757 units as against 1,55,526 in the corresponding period a year ago. Exports during the period under review were, however, down by 13.5% at 9,599 units as compared to 11,096 units a year ago. |
