The employees' strike in Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant, which entered its fifth day today, has started showing its effect on auto parts vendors.
The discontinuation of production has forced them to shut down their units, besides piling up inventory of auto parts, vendors said.
With the strike in the country's largest auto maker threatening to affect the auto industry in and around Gurgaon, industry representatives have sought intervention of Haryana government to resolve the standoff at Maruti at the earliest.
According to industry representatives, about 250 units, which were supplying auto components to Maruti's plant in Manesar, have been affected by the strike.
"As no production is taking place in Manesar plant of Maruti, we are left with accumulation of huge stock of material which was to be supplied to the company. Now, we have no space to store the supplies, therefore we have shut down our unit," Sunil Bakshi, owner of Manesar-based Sunil Auto, told PTI over phone.
Sunil Auto has been supplying sheet metal components, including body parts of cars, to Maruti.

Another affected vendor by the strike in Maruti is Haryana Industries, which has not been supplying auto parts to Maruti ever since strike hit Maruti.
"I have been left with auto component stocks worth Rs 30 lakh because of the strike which was to be sent to Maruti's facility in Manesar. Now no supply is being made to the company [Maruti], my sales are going to be hit," said Iswar Singh of Haryana Industries.
Ishwar has been associated with Maruti for the last 22 years.
Acknowledging that strike in Maruti has started hitting the ancillary units, Gurgaon Udyog Association said the Haryana government should intervene and take stock of the situation in Maruti and find out the urgent solution to end the stalemate.
"We will meet Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and submit the memorandum to him to resolve the issue [strike in Maruti] at the earliest," Association's President Parveen Yadav said.
Significantly, Haryana Labour Commissioner had yesterday termed the standoff between the management of Maruti Suzuki India and agitating workers at Manesar facility as "internal matter", though it had said the local authorities were keeping a tab on the whole issue.
