The country's largest autocar maker, Maruti Suzuki today posted its net profit for the quarter ended June, 2011 at Rs 549.23 crore, an increase of Rs 465.36 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Net sales for the quarter were registered at Rs 8,319 crore.
Total income has increased to Rs 8,709.37 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, from Rs 8,409.62 crore for the same quarter the previous year.
Other income was posted at Rs 180 crore for the June, 2011 ended quarter as compared to Rs 100 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
Operating profit margin was registered at 9.5% as against 9.6% y-o-y.
The company said higher commodity prices and foreign exchange volatility put more pressure on margins in comparison to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The company's total sales were marginally down during the quarter, at 2,81,526 units, as against 2,83,324 units in the same period last fiscal.
The shares of the firm were trading up by 0.78% at Rs 1,190.95 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
