Auto major Maruti Suzuki today said its sales are likely grow by 8-10% this year, a sharp drop from 30% growth witnessed last year.
"We lost production. Last year's sales were abnormally good with 30% growth. This year we are looking at a growth rate in the range of 8-10% only," company General Manager and Commercial Business Head (South) Manohar Bhat said.
He expressed hope that sales would pick up during the festival season.
Maruti Suzuki is targetting monthly sales of 17,000 units of the new Swift model across the country by next year, Bhat said while launching the car in the Kerala market.
Earlier, on an average, 12,000 units were being sold a month.
