Maruti Udyog (MUL) has decided to keep the company closed for two days - March 19, 2005 and March 25, 2005 - in view of expected demand not materialising to the extent expected by the company.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, "the company had planned substantially higher production in March expecting major growth in the passenger car market during the month. The growth, however, has not materialised to the extent anticipated. The company has thus decided to revise production plans for March, and the facilities will be closed for two days - March 19, and March 25, 2005."

The company, however, expect sales in the current month to be the highest monthly sales ever in its history, the release added.
