Riding on the back of repositioning of its brand, private sector insurer Max New York Life today said it expects first premium income to grow over 80 per cent during the year.

"We are growing at 81 per cent and expects to maintain or exceed this in the remaining five months of this year," Max New York Life, Chief Marketing Officer Debashis Sarkar said.

The company has collected first premium of Rs 1,195 crore in January-July period of this year registering a growth of 81 per cent, he said.

Since the second halves are usually better than the first ones, the trend might continue this year as well. So on the aggregate basis, the growth for the year would be higher than the first seven months, he added.

Meanwhile, the company unveiled its new brand positioning with the tagline 'Karo Zyaada Ka Iraada'.

Sarkar said, the new tagline has been coined to represent an ambitious and assertive India that is ready to compete for more, demand more, dream more and live more to create a better today and brighter tomorrow.

"As we are in an aggressive growth and expansion mode, we want the brand to reflect the same," he said.

The company plans to significantly expand its distribution footprint by opening more than 250 new offices every year for next four years.

Another 700 offices will be opened in emerging markets.

The company has spent about Rs 25 crore for the new branding exercise that would be rolled out through TV commercial, print campaign, outdoor and online advertisement.
