Max to open 40 new stores

Max, the largest value fashion brand in Middle East, is the newest entrant in the Kolkata retail scene, with its first store in City Centre 2, Rajarhat.

Spread over 8,000 sq ft, the latest fashion is available between Rs 199 and Rs 599. The store offers apparel for women, men and children, besides footwear and fashion accessories.

Vasanth Kumar, executive director, Max, said, “Max is currently the largest value retailer in the country. We currently have 23 stores across India and plan to take it to 60 stores by 2011-12.”

Its stores are located in 11 cities including Indore, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi, Agra, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Calicut, Nanded and Mumbai.

 

“There is growth opportunity for all value retailers in the country. All our stores make Rs 6-9 crore per annum, depending on catchment. Our stores are 10,000 sq ft on an average,” added Kumar.
