Mayfair Banquets in expansion mode

Mayfair Banquets has embarked on a major expansion drive with a proposed investment of Rs 600 crore.
 
The company plans to soon set up eight business hotels and 21 banquet halls in metros as well as tier II cities like Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Bangalore and Gurgaon.
 
Srinidhi Rao, chief operating officer, said the company was planning to provide one-point solutions for hi-profile weddings, corporate meetings and social gatherings.
 
"We have planned eight business hotels in cities like Pune, Surat, Bangalore, Chennai and Alibaug, which will be operational by 2012. The banquet halls will be operational by March 31, 2009," he said during the launch of Mayfair's second banquet hall in Pune.
 
Mayfair Banquets, a Ravi Ghai group company, registered a turnover worth Rs 50 crore during the current financial year and expects this to touch Rs 75 crore next year.
 
"We have a strong presence in Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Mumbai. Our Bangalore unit will soon be operational. We also run the Intercontinental Hotel at Marive Drive, Mumbai. By 2010, we expect to set up at least four business hotels in Surat, Jaipur, Goa and Alibaug," he added.
