Maytas Infra Q1 net at Rs 20 cr

Infrastructure development company Maytas Infra posted a net profit of Rs 20 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008, and a turnover of Rs 383.92 crore.

EPS stood at Rs 3.41. The results of this quarter could not be compared with the corresponding quarter last year as the company is not listed. It has an order book of Rs 11,474 crore.

Chief executive officer PK Madhav said the company had bagged some projects during the quarter and was seeing significant traction across all verticals.

Asahi India Glass Q1 loss at Rs 40.89 cr

Asahi India Glass (AIGL) posted a loss of Rs 40.89 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. The company had made a profit of Rs 20.72 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The key reason for the loss posted for this quarter according to the company arises from losses incurred from a weakening Indian rupee that depreciated about 10 per cent since January this year.

While a weak rupee resulted in increased earnings from exports, AIGL’s loan denominated in dollars (external commerical borrowings) have become more costly to service now.

Allied Digital net at Rs 15.66 cr

Allied Digital Services net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 at Rs 15.66 crore almost doubled from Rs 9 crore in the corresponding quarter last financial year. Revenue grew by 38 per cent to touch Rs90.20 crore from Rs 65.23 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2007.
