Mediker, the lice removal brand owned by Marico Industries, recently conducted a 'Mediker school adda programme' in Kolkata covering 100 groups of mothers at 25 city schools recently to create awareness about its new oil-based product. |
According to Deepali Naair, marketing manager of Mediker, the programme aimed at educating congregations of mothers awaiting school-going children about the availability of its new anti-lice oil. |
The Mediker promotion used mobile vans to present an interactive session on the lice problem and the alienation it caused when not treated. A quiz with prizes was also part of the effort. |
Naair said, "Our research has shown that some mothers are unwittingly harming their children by using poisonous substances like begunidana, cockroach spray, kerosene and even insecticides on their child. We have a solution in two convenient forms of oil and shampoo." |
Lice, if not treated, can lead to skin diseases, irritation and and poor concentration. It can also cause anaemia and fever. |
The new Mediker product was based on oil with neem and camphor. The treatment in the shampoo format was a regular shampoo. |
