The German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India today showcased two new cars--SLS AMG Desert Gold and the hatchback coupe Concept Fascination--at the ongoing 10th Auto Expo here.

The company will launch the AMG Desert Gold after completing the modification, suited for the domestic market conditions.

"Currently, we do not have a right-hand drive for the AMG Desert Gold. We will launch it immediately when we have the right-hand drive option," Mercedes-Benz India managing director and chief executive Wilfried Aulbur told reporters at the 10th Auto Expo here.

Asked about the tentative price, he said, "It will be in region of Rs two crore."

The company also displayed the M-Class Luxury edition as well as the E-Coupe.

Mercedes-Benz has recently lost the top spot in the premium car segment in the country to the other German luxe carmaker BMW.

Asked about the strategy that the company would adopt to regain the top slot, Aulbur said, "We are not competing against anyone and our sole aim is to grow profitably, and we are hoping for a high double digit growth in the country."
