Mercedes-AMG, a premium high performance arm of German automobile maker Mercedes-Benz, will be launching the AMG S 63 Coupe in India on June 18. The launch will mark the fourth AMG car launch this year by the company. The S-class AMG model features host of design and technical improvements that makes it a blueblood coupe in its segment.
The car features Mercedes’ AMG coupe design with sweep back front lamps, vertical slit grille with Mercedes insignia at the centre, jet-wing designed front bumper with airflow channelling and arched roof design. The car sports LED headlamps and OLED technology-based tail lamps. The overall design is accentuated by 20-inch alloy wheels, which feature the five machine-finished spokes.
Inside the car, the AMG S 63 Coupe features leather wrapped seats with stitched upholstery across surface. The dashboard is covered by a pair of 12.3-inch screens, and the car gets COMAND system with touchpad controller, Burmester surround sound system with Apple CarPlay support, Android Auto and Bluetooth audio streaming with hands-free Bluetooth interface.
The AMG S 63 Coupe features an AMG 4.0-litre V-8 Bi-turbo engine that delivers 610bhp of max power and 900 Nm of peak torque. The power delivery is available across rev range between 2,750 and 4,500 rpm. The car comes standard with fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive.
Though the price has not been made official yet, the Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe is expected to be priced around Rs 35 million (ex-showroom). The pricing is based on the factor that the car would come to India as the completely build-up unit (CBU).
