German automobile maker Mercedes-Benz India on Friday said that it had plans to assemble its latest sport utility vehicle, the GL-Class, at its Pune plant from August.
Currently it assembles the C-Class, E-Class, M-Class and the S-Class in India. Mercedes is currently importing the GL-Class as a completely built-up unit.
“We have plans to assemble GL-Class, a SUV considering the response from the customers. Currently, we assemble the C-Class, E-Class, M-Class and the S-Class in India at our facility,” said, Eberhard H Kern, managing director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
