German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz India on Tuesday launched the Edition C, a sporty-looking C-Class model, in Mumbai. It is priced at Rs 39.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Only 500 units of this will be available in the Indian market, and only in the diesel variant.
Mercedes is celebrating the 1-crore milestone of C-Class sales globally. Customers will have to pay Rs 5 lakh more for Edition C than the regular C-Class.
This is the last of the special-edition Mercedes C-Class cars in India and an all-new C-Class is expected to debut sometime later next year or in early 2015. An AMG body kit, new designer wheels, smoked headlamps and a very subtle ‘Edition C’ badging help in distinguishing this car from the regular C-Class.
