Mercedes to hike prices upto 10% in Jan, joins BMW, Audi

HCIL also plans to hike prices from Jan to partially offset the impact of adverse exchange rate and inflation

Mercedes-Benz India, the country's second largest luxury car manufacturer, will increase prices of its products across models by a maximum of 10% from next month .

The move by the Pune-based company comes less than 10 days after its rivals BMW and Audi also announced a price hike, which would come into effect in the same time.

Eberhard Kern, managing director & chief executive officer, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “A fantastic year of offensive focus has helped us achieve tremendous success in India, despite challenging market conditions and we will continue to build on our success by further enhancing  our after-sales programmes, dealer network and  customer support.”
 

While BMW said it would raise prices in the range of 7-10%, Audi would increase 3-5%.

Mercedes Benz sells a range of luxury cars and sports utility vehicles in India, including compact cars A Class and B class, sedans C Class, E Class and S Class and sports car SLS AMG, priced between Rs 22 lakh and Rs 3 crore.
