Merlin Group to invest Rs 2,000cr in WB realty

Kolkata-based Merlin Group plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore by 2010 for commercial and housing projects in West Bengal through its joint-venture companies with the state government, namely, Bengal Merlin Infrastructure Ltd and Bengal Merlin Housing Ltd respectively.

This apart, the group has formed a consortium with South City Projects (Kolkata), to partner with the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA), for developing around 6 lakh square feet commercial area in south Kolkata.

Merlin Projects, the joint-venture flagship company of the group with the KMDA, recently announced the construction of a mixed-used commercial project, "Acropilis" at Rajdanga on EM Bypass connector, with an estimated project cost of Rs 300 crore.
