He succeeds Aravind Mathew, who had been appointed as the leader of the Global Product Development of the Ford Motor Company and would be responsible for relocating Ford Motor's world headquarters in Dearbom, Michigan, United States.
Both appointments would be effective from June one next, Aravind Mathew and Michael Bonehan told a press meet here today.
Bonehan would be responsible for implementing Ford India's 500 million dollar expansion programme, which would begin this year, Mathew said.
Michael said he would like to work towards introducing new models of Ford in the country.

He said he would also be overseeing the company's plan to produce engines in India by 2010.
"By 2010, we will ramp up our installed capcity to 250,000 units per annum from 100,000 units currently for rolling out compact cars, new versions of engines and critical components for domestic and overseas consumption," he said.
Ford's Indian subsidiary has invested about 400 million dollars over the last decade for setting up an integrated car manufacturing facility near Chennai in Tamil Nadu to produce high-end models.
