Software major, Microsoft on Monday announced that Anant Maheshwari will take over the operations of the company from Bhaskar Pramanik. Pramanik who is currently the chairman, Microsoft India will retire in March 2017.
Maheshwari will join Microsoft on September 1 as president, Microsoft India and will take over from January next year.
Currently, he is president at Honeywell India. He was appointed the president of Honeywell India in January 2014, after serving various roles in the company for 10 years.
As the president of Microsoft India he will be responsible for all of Microsofts product, service, and support offerings across the country and also be responsible for continuing the companys transformation into the leading productivity and platform company for the mobile-first, cloud-first era.

He has worked closely with our customers, employees, partners and government stakeholders, and has been a truly passionate supporter of Digital India initiatives. In the coming months before he retires, I know he will work side by side with Anant, to ensure we have a smooth transition of leadership and continue to drive our business forwards," he added.
Pramanik, prior to becoming chairman of Microsoft India in 2011 was with managing director for Oracle India and managing director at Sun Microsystems.
