Microsoft in IPTV pact with Reliance

 Within the next two years, the landscape of the Indian entertainment industry is set to undergo a revolutionary change, courtesy Microsoft Corporation and Reliance Infocomm.

 The two giants today announced an exclusive tie-up to jointly create, test and deliver next-generation Internet Protocol (IP)-based television services.

 While Microsoft is developing the software and the middleware for an IPTV solution, the nationwide high-speed infrastructure of Reliance Infocomm will be leveraged to deliver a unique host of next-generation television services.
