Microsoft India to train 10,000 SMBs in TN

IT is opening up new avenues of growth for small businesses around the world and in India

Microsoft Corporation India would launch an IT training programme to reach out to around 10,000 entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu.

"As per our study, companies that used technology grew their revenue over 20 per cent, while the non-users of technology logged lower growth rate," said Meetul B Patel, general manager - SMS&P, Microsoft India.

The IT major, in partnership with the Tamilnadu Small and Tiny Industries Association, targets to train and enable 10,000 small and medium sized business (SMB) in the state to adopt information technology and cloud computing by mid-2016.

IT is opening up new avenues of growth for small businesses around the world and in India, the company said.
 

"By leveraging lower cost devices and affordable cloud-based services from Microsoft and its partners, SMBs are accessing new markets, engaging with customers more efficiently, and managing their costs better. In addition, these technologies and services help SMBs focus on their core business and not on basic IT infrastructure. The result is profitable, accelerated growth. Through our association with TANSTIA and the commitment of our partners like Quadrasystems.net, we hope to bring the benefits of IT to every SMB," said Patel.

"Today, many of the government services like payment of taxes, tenders have gone online. So, small business have to embrace information technology to stay in business," CK Mohan, vice president of TANSTIA said.

According to him, the association would inform its members about the training progamme through various modes so that they can benefit. The course fee and other details are yet to be worked out, said Mohan.
