Mid-sized sedan market hots up as Hyundai Verna takes lead over City, Ciaz

The new Verna, launched after a full model change in the second half of August, has managed to post a good set of numbers, with total bookings of 20,000 units

Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Honda, three of the country’s top four car makers, are in a race for first position in the mid-size sedan market. 
This was earlier limited to Maruti and Honda but Hyundai has joined with the launch of its new Verna, after a full model change in August; this has got bookings for 20,000 units. Hyundai sold 6,054 units of the new Verna in September, against 6,010 units of the Honda City and 5,603 units of the Maruti Ciaz.
