MindTree rejig aimed at growth

In the company's first major restructuring exercise since its inception in 1999, MindTree has redesignated Ashok Soota, currently chairman and managing director, as executive chairman, focusing on strategic initiatives in MindTree's expansion and growth. Soota will also remain chairman of the board.
 
Announcing the changes, Soota said, "This is about creating MindTree version 2.0. What we have achieved in the last eight years is just the foundation for the next 12. The new structure will create leadership capacity as MindTree prepares for the next leap forward."
 
The role of chief strategy officer has been created with Salil Godika reporting to Soota in this capacity. Godika has recently relocated to India.
 
Krishnakumar Natarajan, who is the president and CEO of MindTree's IT services business, will take up the role of CEO and MD of the company with overall responsibility of IT and R&D services.
 
The company's IT services business will have a two-in-a-box structure led by Scott Staples and Anjan Lahiri as president and co-CEOs. Both will be responsible for designated industry groups, practices and geographies. The R&D services will continue to be led by S Janakiraman, president and CEO.
 
Vinod Deshmukh will assist him as president and co-CEO to nurture new business groups.
