The minister of steel, Braja Kishore Tripathy, has called for a meeting with the major steel producers of the country next week to discuss the post budget issues concerning the industry.
Sources within the ministry said that this is the first time that a meeting of this kind has been called by the minister after the budget.
Officials within various steel companies are, however, uncertain over the outcome of the meeting.
